1963, Eulenglück (Happy Owls) by Celestino Piatti, HB GERMAN CHILDREN’S, ILLUSTR

First published in Dutch in 1963, this is a German Edition published near that time – the copyright page only notes a copyright date; there are no other dates. CHARMING STORY OF, THE HAPPY OWLS. Published by Artemis Verlag Zurich and Stuttgart. The book is in VERY GOOD CONDITION. It measures about 12″ by 8.5″. The main wear issue is some wear and notches on top edges of boards. There is some light soiling of white spaces front and back boards. No interior marks, unpaged with 16 leaves including endpaper leaves. Here is a synopsis of the book: “The Happy Owls is about two owls that are inexplicably happy – inexplicable at least according to the chickens, ducks, and geese who live nearby. They decide to send the peacock over to find out why. After the owls explain, the other birds are skeptical at the response. This book made me happy.” B130
